Town Hall
CSG's TALK AND LISTEN KIT® provides effective and efficient communication tools for federal, state and local government meetings. Ensuring that citizens who have limited English skills have access to information is essential, whether it is a meeting of international government officials, a tour of the state capitol building or a city council meeting. Court
In January 2003, the Supreme Court ruled that interpreters must be appointed when defendants cannot "understand and speak English well enough to participate fully in the proceedings and to assist counsel" and witnesses "cannot speak English so as to be understood directly by counsel, court and jury."
It is essential that non-English speaking citizens are given the same opportunities as English speaking citizens during the judicial process. The equipment provided by CSG ensures that everyone in the courtroom can clearly hear and understand legal proceedings...no matter what language they speak!

A non-English speaking defendant receives instructions from court appointed interpreters (L) on using a TALK AND LISTEN KIT® while his attorney (R) looks on.

"We have used the equipment primarily in our First Time Homebuyer class. Using this equipment makes teaching and presenting information in English to a non-English speaking audience so much easier. There is no stopping and waiting for the interpreter to repeat what you say and there is no disruption for the rest of the class."

"This system has been invaluable in enabling speakers to communicate easily with parent groups which include parents who do not speak English. The system has greatly enhanced our efforts to help immigrant parents to feel welcome at school and parent functions. More effective communication between home and school has enormous benefits for children."
